SYNOPSIS

In Spring of 2003, in an opulent living room in Westchester, New York, old highschool friends excitedly gather to await the dawn of the next Gulf War. As they enjoy debating the pros and cons of duct tape and French wine, the war looms, and their old friend, a veteran of the first Gulf War, returns home with a darker truth of what war might bring.

CHARACTERS

VICKI: Upper class suburban-NY housewife. Would be a soccer mom if she didn't have servants to drive the kids around. Trying to keep her nagging depression at bay with a bright, positive, upbeat attitude and pharmaceuticals.

ROGER: Vicki's high school sweetheart and husband. Partner in a N.Y.C. ad firm. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth and a football under his arm. A bit of a bully.

PHOEBE: Their friend from grade school. Very childlike. Lonely, anxiety-ridden and confused. Afraid to have opinions of her own. Desperate for approval. Desperate for love.

DENNIS: Their high school friend. Always the second banana. A good-hearted guy in a life crisis as he is torn between the old friends he defined himself by, and his new love interest.

SAM: Their high school friend and hero. He has always made good with everything he touched. Once charismatic and powerful, he is ravaged by The Gulf War. In Act I, Sam plays every delivery man.

JOAN: Dennis' new love interest. Passionate activist. Upper-West-Side liberal New Yorker recently gone suburban.

All the characters are in their mid to late 30's.
