HE and SHE are trying to have a wonderful time at their senior prom. In spite of the grisly truth of what just happened in the girl's bathroom.

The action takes place outside the girls' bathroom at a high school prom.

The two characters, HE and SHE are both seventeen. They are frighteningly typical upper-middle-class high school students.

The Prom was produced in 2003 by City Theatre's Short Cuts School Tour, and was a finalist at The Actor's Theatre of Louisville Ten-Minute Play Contest.

A park bench in New York City.

JEN: Med Student in her 20's
JIM: Actor in his 20's
They are newlyweds.

The Record was commissioned for Juilliard's Centennial celebration and was produced at The Juilliard School in October 2005. It is published by Smith and Kraus in The Best 10 Minute Plays of 2005.
